    1982年获清华大学机械工程硕士学位，1991年获美国哈佛大学经济学博士学位，现任伦敦经济学院经济学教授；全欧经济政策研究中心高级研究员。主要研究和教学领域：法律与金融。他在发展经济学、契约理论、东亚金融方面颇有建树，曾发表《东亚的金融制度与金融危机》，《为什么中国不同于东欧》等研究文章。

    自1991年至今伦敦经济学院任教，1998年获得终身教职，现为清华大学经济管理学院特聘经济学教授，全欧经济政策研究中心（CEPR）研究员，以及密歇根大学Davidson研究所研究员。许成钢1982年获清华大学工程学学士，1991年获哈佛大学经济学博士学位。曾在中国社科院数量和技术经济学研究所任研究员，哈佛大学国际发展研究所客座教授，国际货币基金组织和世界银行的访问学者，以及担任《美国经济评论》（AER）、《政治经济学杂志》（JPE）、《经济学季刊》（QJE）等一流学术期刊的审稿人。
